    GrowthMindset is seeking a Senior Director Finance - Construction/Capital Projects for a direct-hire position located in Oakland, CA.  

     

    This position will lead the finance function and have a deep background in all aspects of construction activities, including budgeting, contracting methodologies, forecasting, identification of risks, pencil draws etc.  This is a new senior level finance position to lead the function on The Thrive Center, a $1B + construction process.  

    Responsibilities

    • Develops, interprets and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control.

    • Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance.

    • Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts.

    • Performs economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.

    • Develop and lead program management function for multiple business development efforts focusing on finance activities during idea generation, due diligence, deal closing and business integration.  Focus can be on merger & acquisitions or different forms of partnership or business relationships
    • Complexity of work is very high due to the many work streams that need to be created, managed, and executed to ensure a smooth business outcome.  There is a high level of financial, reputational, and business risk to be managed and addressed from the identification of growth opportunities through full integration and value creation.
    • Partner with the business development leadership/function to ensure proper financial analysis is provided supporting reviews and decisions. This includes application of economic models, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis
    • Work with the legal and business development team to define the scope of the due diligence work needed.
    • Define the work structure, including identifying subject matter experts and defining their roles for financial processes, systems, and reporting.
    • Manage project economics including: track project budgets, monitor, and report risks/opportunities, ensure funding requests, and that business cases are developed, managed, and monitored.
    • Mentor and manage teams and/or resources and check the quality of work.
    • Travel:    20 % of the Time

     

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Minimum twelve (12) years of progressive experience within healthcare related organizations including leadership/management, consulting, transaction, planning and/or project management experience.

     

    • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, statistics, or related field required.
    Preferred Qualifications:

     

    • Experience in managing complex, large-scale projects, along with significant portfolio management, and financial modeling

     

     

    • Master's degree

    This is a new senior level finance position leading the finance function on the Thrive Center, 1 billion dollar plus construction process. This position will lead the finance function and have a deep background in all aspects of construction activities, including budgeting, contracting methodologies, forecasting, identification of risks, pencil draws etc.
     
    What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements on this position?
    Minimum twelve (12) years of progressive experience within healthcare related organizations including leadership/management, consulting, transaction, planning and/or project management experience. MUST have 10 plus years of construction experience. Deep background in all aspects of construction activities, including budgeting, contracting methodologies, forecasting, identification of risks, pencil draws etc.
     
    What are the nice-to-have skills?
    Experience with: EBuilder is the preferred software. Experience with GMP, Cost Plus and other contracting vehicles. Estimated to completion forecasting. Owner controlled insurance program.
